Lesson 25 - Custom Form Shape in C# .NET WPF

In the previous lesson, Skins in WPF Applications, we learned how to create changeable skins for our applications. In today's WPF tutorial, we're going to demonstrate how to use UserControls as another possible way to modify the application's appearance, as we've promised. This will help us create a Clock app with a form of different shapes.

Today's solution is available in the attached sample ClockSkins. The application uses styles to set the control properties, skins for color schemes and the shape of some of the clocks is created using user controls. The clock selection is then made via context menu, which is displayed by right-clicking the clock.

Since the application contains everything we've learned so far, and is more complex, we'll only describe how it works rather than writing code.
