Lesson 22 - E-shop in ASP.NET Core MVC - Cart - Business Layer

In the previous lesson, E-shop in ASP.NET Core MVC - Shopping Cart, we thought about the implementation of the shopping cart mechanism and prepared the database for storing orders. In today's ASP.NET Core MVC tutorial, we're going to focus on the business layer, where we're going to prepare a manager to handle orders and pair them with clients.

Cookie Helpers

Before we start writing the order manager, we'll prepare the methods for working with cookies. These methods will be useful at multiple places of the business layer, so we won't put them directly in OrderManager, but we'll create them as an extension for HttpContext which works with cookies in ASP.NET Core.

SetCookie() and GetCookie()

The SetCookie() method updates values of a cookie if the cookie with the given key already exists. If it doesn't, it creates a new cookie. As parameters, we pass the key (name) of the cookie, the value to store, and the amount of time till the cookie expires. The GetCookie() method, on the other hand, returns the value of the cookie with a given key.
