Lesson 22 - E-shop in ASP.NET Core MVC - Cart - Business Layer
In the previous lesson, E-shop in ASP.NET Core MVC - Shopping Cart, we thought about the implementation of the shopping cart mechanism and prepared the database for storing orders. In today's ASP.NET Core MVC tutorial, we're going to focus on the business layer, where we're going to prepare a manager to handle orders and pair them with clients.
Before we start writing the order manager, we'll prepare the methods for
working with cookies. These methods will be useful at multiple places of the
business layer, so we won't put them directly in
we'll create them as an extension for
HttpContext which works with
cookies in ASP.NET Core.
SetCookie() and GetCookie()
SetCookie() method updates values of a cookie if the cookie
with the given key already exists. If it doesn't, it creates a new cookie. As
parameters, we pass the key (name) of the cookie, the value to store, and the
amount of time till the cookie expires. The
GetCookie() method, on
the other hand, returns the value of the cookie with a given key.
The code for both methods is as follows:
