Asobo Studio has launched Patch 1.1.9.0 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024,
introducing several bug fixes and stability improvements for both Xbox Series
X/S and PC players. This update comes shortly after the game's release, which
was marred by significant server issues and in-game queues that frustrated fans.
The patch is now available to download across all supported platforms.
Following the success of the 2020 release of Microsoft Flight Simulator,
Asobo Studio announced a sequel to be released in November. The original game
garnered praise for its stunning realism, which set high expectations for its
follow-up. Unfortunately, the launch of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 was
plagued by server issues, preventing many players from accessing the game and
causing long virtual queues. Asobo Studio acknowledged the problems, apologizing
to the community and assuring players that they were working tirelessly to
resolve the issues.
The server-related challenges led to a negative reception for Microsoft
Flight Simulator 2024 on Steam, but Asobo is now working to restore player trust
with the release of this first major update. According to the patch notes, Patch
1.1.9.0 addresses various crashes, enhances overall stability and performance,
and fixes a few specific bugs, such as the missing cursor during Xbox Live
sign-in and an issue where players were getting stuck when accessing the menu
bar from help pages.
In addition to the update, Asobo released a statement on Steam, reassuring
players that continued improvements have been made to offer smoother access to
the simulator. With the launch issues now largely resolved, fans who were
disheartened by the initial problems may begin to return and experience the
highly anticipated sequel.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 was also added to Xbox Game Pass in November,
alongside another highly awaited title, STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, offering
Xbox players a lot to enjoy this week.
PC players experiencing performance issues or long loading times may want to
check for outdated packages in their Community Folder, as these can affect the
game. Moving any outdated packages to a different folder may help improve
stability.
