Blizzard has confirmed that Diablo 2: Resurrected's Ladder Season 9 will
launch on December 6, providing an exciting new challenge for the game’s
community. The upcoming season will feature similar rules to previous seasons,
allowing players to compete for high rankings on the leaderboard and showcase
their skills in the popular action RPG.
Originally released in 2000, Diablo 2 became one of the most influential
games of its genre. Blizzard’s remastered version, Diablo 2: Resurrected, was
released in 2021, offering improved graphics and modern console compatibility
while maintaining the classic experience. Players can choose between the
original 2D sprites or updated 3D character models, catering to both long-time
fans and newcomers.
Ladder Season 9 will begin on December 6 at 5 pm PST, following the structure
of previous seasons. The game will feature four Ladder types, with one focusing
solely on the original Diablo 2 acts, and another incorporating the Lords of
Destruction expansion. Additionally, there will be two Hardcore Ladders, where
players face the challenge of completing the game with only one life. All
classes will be available, and any Ladder characters will be transferred to
their respective non-Ladder group at the start of the next season.
Introduced in 2022, Ladders have become a competitive and rewarding mode for
Diablo 2: Resurrected players. To participate, gamers must create new characters
who will progress through the game while their performance is compared to others
on a leaderboard. Each new season resets the scoreboard, giving players another
opportunity to rise to the top.
Alongside the season announcement, Blizzard revealed that Diablo 2:
Resurrected Patch 2.8.0 will be released on December 3. This update will address
a single bug and improve the interface, allowing players to bind Move Directions
to specific keys. Despite limited updates, Diablo 2: Resurrected remains a
beloved action RPG, offering both nostalgic appeal and new competitive
challenges for players.
