Lesson 18 - Type casting and object hierarchy in Java
In the previous lesson, Interfaces in Java, we learned about interfaces and created a Pterodactyl class in Java. In today's tutorial, we'll continue working on our interface project. We will also go over type casting and reveal more secrets of the object-oriented programming.
Type casting
Let's go back to our previous project and change the code in the main() method to have our pterodactyl stored in a variable of the BirdInterface type:
BirdInterface bird = new Pterodactyl();
We're allowed to do that because the Pterodactyl class implements
