Hello,
I’ve recently started a cake shop in Toronto, specializing in designer cakes.
There are 3 other stores who provides the same services in the same region, so I
thought of doing some marketing for my store. I actually planned to start with
an online promotion, but my friend told, it would be good if I start with direct
mail marketing before online promotion, as he had done it for his store by
giving the contract to a direct mail marketing services provider, which earned
good amount of customers for him. So I’m confused with where to start with,
online promotion or direct mail marketing?
Please help.
Thanks!
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.

The usual approach is to start with an online promotion, e.g. with Google
AdWords or Facebook Ads. Be careful to aim your campaigns to the right region.
Prepare a nice landing page, that's the page your future customers will land to
after clicking on your ads. Your landing page should provide a way to register
an email address, i.e. in order to get an extra offer/sale. Once you have email
addresses of many users, you do a direct mailing with additional offers. This is
IMHO the best way, doing the direct marketing first seems kinda spammy to
me.
