Discussion – Lesson 1 - Introduction to the Java language

am a computer science student in Nigeria, but don't know how to programmer.

This is good forthe start, but local examples are very important for easy understanding for example if you say "Compiler languages" where we say code machine, source and processor for how do we make it easy for a beginner to understand it. Its a very good start

I am currently using an android device, I don't know if it can really help me practically in this course.

The course contains interactive examples so you don't need a PC to learn Java here.
