Herschelle Gibbs of South Africa had the honor of being the first player to
set a 6 ball 6 sixes record in an over in international cricket. He
achieved this rare feat during an ODI match against the Netherlands at the
Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on March 16, 2007. Gibbs smashed Duti Jonker
for 6 consecutive sixes in the over, scoring a total of 36 runs from just 6
legal deliveries faced. His record stood alone for nearly 8 months before Yuvraj
Singh matched it later the same year.
