Hey everyone,

I've been diving into baseball statistics lately, and one tool that caught my attention is the ERA (Earned Run Average) calculator. It's commonly used in baseball to evaluate pitchers, but I've been wondering: can we apply the ERA calculator to other sports?

While ERA is deeply rooted in baseball's scoring system, its fundamental concept—measuring the average number of runs earned by a pitcher per nine innings—seems adaptable. However, its application to other sports might not be straightforward. Sports like cricket or softball might have analogous statistics, but can I use the ERA calculator for other sports?

Do you think we can repurpose the ERA calculator for other sports, or does each sport require its unique set of metrics?
